Your Mission
As a Global Customs Specialist, you will take the lead in mapping, reviewing, optimizing, and helping to control global customs flows across business areas.
Your primary focus will be on ensuring compliance with all international and national customs regulations, in alignment with internal trade compliance policies.
You will serve as the go-to expert on customs matters.
Your Responsibilities
Advise and propose global customs strategies for import/export in collaboration with customs authorities worldwide and internal stakeholders.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure trade-compliant operations.
Actively monitor changes in international and national customs regulations and ensure business continuity.
Conduct risk assessments and identify process improvement opportunities within business operations.
Support the organization’s expansion by designing and implementing customs-compliant processes that align with internal logistics flows.
Map and monitor customs flows, maintaining close contact with distribution centers and logistics departments.
Coach and train colleagues on customs-related topics across the organization.
Perform internal and partner audits on customs processes, report findings to leadership, and follow up with corrective actions.
Collaborate with global trade compliance team members and work closely with external stakeholders (e.g. customs authorities, export control bodies, consultants).
Report directly to the Trade Compliance Lead for the relevant Business Area.
Profiel
What We’re Looking For
You hold a Master's degree.
You have either a first professional experience relevant to customs/trade compliance or gained specific expertise during your studies.
You are fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken); knowledge of other languages is a plus.
You are communicative and capable of building strong, long-term relationships internally and externally.
You are proactive, solution-oriented, and deliver on commitments.
You are open to change, quick to learn, and adapt easily to new systems and technologies.
You are results-driven and always looking for savings or improvements in customs operations.
You’re a team player who shares knowledge and best practices with others.
As this is a global role, occasional travel may be required based on business needs
